Before Cowboys, my debut album, includes 13 tracks & features Al Schnier on guitars, bass, keyboards & mandolin, and special guest Gordon Stone playing banjo/pedal steel on 4 of the songs. I cover vocals, piano, drums & percussion.

These songs were chosen from a collection of 75 songs I wrote in the early to mid 90s that got tucked under the bed & forgotten about for a long time.

The title of the album, "Before Cowboys" comes from a line in one of my songs - "Let's play Indians BC...before cowboys were here". That particular song never actually made it to the album but the title was always the title & that was it.

Approximately six months after the album was released....a band was formed and we ultimately ended up using the name of the album as the band name....BEFORE COWBOYS.

The band consists of Al Schnier (guitar) and Vinnie Amico (drums) from moe. Kirk and Kenny Juhas from Okemah, playing keyboard/hammond & bass respectively, Shannon Lynch, from Lynch, on sax, flute & harmony vocals, and myself on piano and lead vocals.
